This is a list of genetically engineered mouse lines being maintained in HBI labs around campus. Many of us have had the experience of postponing an experiment because of the time and money required to import a line - or importing one, only to find that it was already on campus. We hope this list will help members of the Harvard neuroscience community avoid these frustrating problems. Please read the following notes carefully before using the list.
1) THIS LIST MAY BE INCOMPLETE OR OUTDATED.
We did the best we could to gather information, but we cannot guarantee its accuracy. We will update the list at least once a year, but at any given moment it is likely to be out of date. If you see mistakes or have updates please email Dana Edelman.
2) NO OBLIGATIONS.
Listing a line does not obligate the lab to share it in any particular way – or at all. In general, we believe that mouse lines described in a published paper should be shared with no strings attached, whereas it is reasonable to share unpublished lines on a discretionary, collaborative basis –but all of this is completely up to the investigator.
3) HARVARD ACCESS ONLY
This list is accessible to users with a Harvard Key. Please help us maintain its privacy. If the list becomes available outside the Harvard community, and investigators are bombarded with requests from outside of Harvard, we may need to take down the site.
